The Crosby family has established a scholarship in Capt. Crosby’s name with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Army ROTC Endowed Scholarship Fund in memory of Herbert C. Crosby, referred to as the Crosby Army ROTC Fund, was established in honor of US Army Captain Herbert C. “Herby” Crosby’s selfless dedication to the Nation.

  • Capt Crosby graduated from ROTC at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, October 1967. He was promoted to 1st Lt. October 1968, and received his wings in Rotary Wing training January 14, 1969 at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He began his flight training in Fort Walters, Texas. On February 21, 1969, he left for his tour of duty in Vietnam.
  • The scholarship will be made available to eligible students pursuing their academic degree at Embry-Riddle AU Daytona Beach Campus enrolled as members of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (AROTC) program.
